February 2016 Sci Fi Nerd Block Subscription Box Review and Giveaway

In my quest to try new and exciting subscription boxes, this month I decided to try The Sci Fi Nerd Block subscription box.  While it doesn't come with a book, it's based on lots of fun pop culture movies and books which was super fun to receive.

The Nerd Block Subscription box is 19.99 plus shipping(and extra t-shirt sizes).  They also have several different versions for you to try.  There is a Classic nerd block subsription, an Arcade box, a Sci Fi subscription box, a Horror box, a Comic box, and two kid boxes-- a boy Jr subscription box and a girl Jr subscription box.

You can pick which box you want and even change each month to different versions if you want to try something new.  The boxes are automatically billed each month on the first, tenth, or twentieth day of the month (depending upon the box you subscribe to.)

I decided to try the Sci Fi subscription box first.

I opened the box to find a full size POP figurine.  I have mentioned before how much I LOVE these figurines, but have been avoiding buying them.  I think they are so cute and fun, but with all the moving around we do, they just don't seem practical to purchase a lot of them.

This is my second POP figurine.  The first one I received in the January 2016 Owl Crate box.  This one is the Collector from the Guardians of the Galaxy.  While I did enjoy the movie, I'm not sure I would have bought this one if I'd had the chance.  But I'm still thrilled to have received him and have put him on my bookshelf with my prizes.

Being the middle of February and the fact that I love Star Wars, I was super excited to find this Storm Trooper beanie hat in the Nerd Block subscription box.  It's a good quality hat and has the words Storm Trooper written on the top part written around the hat.  On the front is a picture of a Storm Trooper and a big black and white "poofy" on top.

I was excited to try it, but as soon as my son got home, he grabbed it and has been wearing it almost non stop since.  I guess if you need to be warm as your heading to school, you might as well do it in full Star Wars style.

Speaking of Star Wars love, I was excited to receive this Star Wars t-shirt in the box.  I love that you can pick what size shirt you want so they will fit anyone you want to give them to.  I am the only one that's a Large in my house, so I love that I don't have to share at least one of the fun items in the box.

I wore this shirt the other day, and got so many compliments on it.  It was kind of fun to meet other Star Wars buffs, both those who really were and those who are because of the latest movie.  It was also fun to meet little kids who were just being introduced to the Star Wars fandom universe and knew the Millenium Falcon by shape.

I'm not a huge Star Trek fan.  I've seen most of the movies, but am not in love with the series, but this com link Star Trek notebook was kinda cool.  It looks just like the coms that Kirk and the Enterprise crew use to contact each other.

There are several layers to the notebook so if you open up the top gold part, it looks like the inside of the com link on the inside.  Pretty cool.  Not sure what I'm going to use it for, but it's very unique and who doesn't need another notebook to jot down notes when you're out and about.

The last item in the box was this Alien figurine.  I have to admit, I don't know what to do with this.  I HATE scary movies so there's no way that I'll ever watch the Alien series and I wouldn't give this to a kid to play with.  I don't know anyone who collects these or does anything with them. So I'm thinking I'll give it away if anyone wants it.

So if you want this Alien figurine, just enter below and I'll send it to one "lucky" person.  You'll be doing both me and you a favor!

I am glad that I got the Sci Fi Susbcription box and definitely will try other versions in the future.  It was fun and well worth the price tag for the items that I got.  Hopefully, one of you will help me and take the Alien figurine off my hands and give it a happy home.
