March 2016 Uppercase Subscription Box Review

If you love Young Adult fiction, you will love the Uppercase subscription box.  I know I certainly did.  This subscription box is a little different than any of the other ones that I've tried out so far, and the differences certainly stood out and made it a box worth repeating.

The subscription box came in a USPS priority mail envelope.  So the shipping was fast once I got the notice that it was in the mail.  I always appreciate that.  I guess I'm a little too "instant gratification" than I'd like, especially when it comes to books.

Inside the envelope was a nylon bag with the Uppercase logo on it.  The bag contained a Young Adult fiction book as well as all the unique, personal book swag.

The book included is "Rebel of the Sands" by Alwyn Hamilton.  I had not heard of this book before, but it's certainly going on my "What to Read Next" list.  This is what Amazon has to say about the book:

"Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mythical beasts still roam the wild and remote areas, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinn still perform their magic.  For humans, it’s an unforgiving place, especially if you’re poor, orphaned, or female.

Amani Al’Hiza is all three.  She’s a gifted gunslinger with perfect aim, but she can’t shoot her way out of Dustwalk, the back-country town where she’s destined to wind up wed or dead.

Then she meets Jin, a rakish foreigner, in a shooting contest, and sees him as the perfect escape route. But though she’s spent years dreaming of leaving Dustwalk, she never imagined she’d gallop away on mythical horse—or that it would take a foreign fugitive to show her the heart of the desert she thought she knew.

Rebel of the Sands reveals what happens when a dream deferred explodes—in the fires of rebellion, of romantic passion, and the all-consuming inferno of a girl finally, at long last, embracing her power."

Sounds cool, doesn't it?

What's even cooler, is that the subscription box comes with a signed bookplate from the author.

And....this is probably one of my favorite things, the included bookmark has special codes on it to create a unique reading experience while you're reading Rebel of the Sands.  When you get to a certain page, you can enter the code at Uppercasebox.com to watch videos from the author, additional backstories, and interact with other Uppercase readers through the website.  I can't wait to read the book just to check out the exclusive content.

Uppercase also contained a "read more" magnet and some awesome 18 K gold quote earrings from JewelSugar.  I have already worn my earrings and love them.  I usually have a problem wearing cheap earrings as they make my ears hurt, but I never had a problem with these so that was super nice.

If you are interested in checking out the Uppercase Subscription box for April, you can sign up anytime by the end of the month to get the next month's box.  The box is $23.00 per month with $6.00 shipping and boxes ship out on the 15th of the month.
